Your Donations Matter
Your Contributions Go Directly to the Animals
Friends of Detroit Animal Care & Control (FoDACC) is 100% operated by volunteers.
Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control is funded exclusively by donations–we receive no money from the City. When you donate to Friends of DACC, you will see your generosity making a big difference in the lives of the homeless dogs and cats of Detroit. We pay for all of the collars, leashes, harnesses, cat boxes, toys, and treats used in the shelter and sent home with fosters and adopters. We pay for costly heartworm treatment at our partner vets for all dogs in foster or adopted, and one free training session with one of our force-free training partners.
The daily enrichment dogs and cats get in kennel to make their stay more comfortable comes directly from Friends of DACC. Every Kong, Nylabone, Frisbee, stuffy toy, peanut butter Milkbone sandwich, and blanket is provided thanks to your donations. You make such a big difference!
Your donations also fuel our programs that help to keep dogs out of our shelter in the first place. Every vaccine, microchip, spay/neuter surgery, and bag of dog food that we can provide to owners in Detroit helps those pets stay in their homes. We hope for a future where the shelter is a safety net for dogs and cats that truly need it, not a place where loved family members end up. Help us help them!

Give Support in Other Ways
We believe that support comes in various forms, extending far beyond traditional cash donations. While financial contributions are undoubtedly impactful, we want to highlight the diversity of ways you can make a difference in our mission. Whether it's a donation of time, goods, or simply spreading the word, your support in any form is invaluable. Together, we can create positive change and make a lasting impact.
