Take & Make Enrichment Kits

Bringing Joy to Shelter Dogs

Why Enrichment Matters

Shelter dogs thrive when their minds and bodies are stimulated. Enrichment activities reduce stress, prevent boredom, and help dogs feel happier and healthier while they wait for their forever homes. Furthermore, happy and healthy pups get adopted faster!

You can support our shelter dogs from home in a fun and meaningful way with our Take & Make Enrichment Kits. These kits include everything you need to craft delicious treats and engaging toys that provide essential enrichment for our shelter pups. It’s easy!

Stuffed Kongs

  1. Fill the Kong roughly 80% with small treats or kibble.
Bonus: soak kibble in water for 15-30 minutes to soften it.

  2. Use a butter knife to spread some peanut butter, plain pumpkin, or wet dog food inside to seal the top.
IMPORTANT REQUEST FROM OUR DISH WASHERS: Please don’t completely fill the Kong with peanut butter, yogurt, or wet dog food. Doing so makes it very difficult to clean and re-use the Kongs. Kibble should be the first thing you put into the Kong.

  3. Store stuffed Kongs in large Ziploc bags (multiple Kongs can fit in one bag).

  4. Deliver to shelter for doggos to eat!

Tennis Ball Fleece Rope Toys

  1. Take 3 strips of fleece (size 4 inches by 30 inches) and layer them on top of each other. Knot the bunch together about 4 inches from one end.

  2. Tightly braid the strands together.

  3. Halfway through the braid, pull the strands through the tennis ball until the ball is flush with the braid.

  4. Continue the braid on the other side of the tennis ball. Secure a knot at the end of the braid, about 4 inches from the end of the rope.
